Macdonald Armouries is best known for offering its customers a high quality bespoke swordmaking service. Regrettably however, due to high and rising demand over past years, Macdonald Armouries has stopped taking all custom orders for the foreseeable future. We can however still offer the following quality services to our customers as detailed below.

Weaponry and Armour Supplier

We can source any appropriate reproduction weaponry or armour of any number for your specific needs, be it one-off or large orders, we are always able to find the best prices on the market, from single daggers to full suits of armour for display or use.If you need to find a particular blade, outfit an army or stock a castle, we can provide.

Original Weaponry Sourcing

Macdonald Armouries can also source and provide original historical European weaponry of any period, from bronze age through to present day regimental pieces. Please do enquire if you are seeking any particular patterns or examples for your collection, museum or for that special gift!

Historical Weapons Consultancy

For professional consultancy on period weaponry for services of identification, valuation and advice on appropriate period weaponry and labelling for collection display or use.

Original Weaponry Restoration

Original and antique weapons professionally restored to preserve their best condition and value. We are happy to undertake work on single pieces or entire armouries. Previous work has been carried out for some of Scotland's most distinguished collections including Lord Elgin at Broomhall House, The Duke of Argyll at Inveraray Castle and Donald Cameron of Lochiel at Achnacarry House. Terms of Service

I am happy to create your own reproduction or original piece entirely to specification. For this to be as accurate as possible, please provide as much specific detail along with any illustrations, photographs, etc. to work from, and your creative project can be taken from there.

Current lead time is anywhere from 36 to 48 months from order time to completion. This varies depending upon current demand, as much of my working time is also taken up with historical fencing tuition and the business is operated entirely by myself alone. I shall contact the customer when the work starts and provide an estimation of how long work should take. The customer should also receive further e-mails with progress images when the sword takes shape, along with a balance payment request upon completion.

A 50 GBP deposit is usual to secure an order. Full balance is payable upon completion. Full balance payment must be made within 2 weeks of order completion and initial payment request.

Please note that if payment is not received within this time, Macdonald Armouries reserves the right to re-sell the order. Please also note that any deposit payment received up to the full cost of the order is non-refundable.

Acceptable payment methods are cash or by cheque, Paypal or direct bank transfer. Please also note that Paypal incurs a 4% additional transfer charge (for UK and 5% for international transactions) and bank transfers may also incur additional charges.

Your order shall be posted or shipped upon balance payment being received and cleared. This shall usually be via the most direct and affordable method. Postage/shipping charges are variable and entirely dependent upon weight and destination. This shall be calculated at the time of your order.
